Inside Mackenzie Foy's Closet

Here's an article WWD.com posted earlier this month. They're giving us insight into Mackenzie's closet and what clothes she likes to wear when she's not filming.

Mackenzie Foy’s life has changed a lot since landing a starring role in one of Hollywood’s biggest movie franchises.
The 12-year-old actress, who plays half-human, half-vampire Renesmee Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part Two,” went from relative unknown in 2010 to overnight celebrity. For the California native, the past two years have been a whirlwind of filming, photo shoots, red-carpet events and talk-show appearances.
But away from the spotlight, Foy is a typical tween. In her downtime, she likes to hang out with friends in jeans, a T-shirt and a comfortable pair of Converse sneakers.
“I just wear [whatever] I feel good in,” said Foy, who got her start modeling for brands including Gap, Guess, J.Crew and Ralph Lauren. “I like to dress according to my mood.”
Although Foy found it difficult to relate to her character’s wild, supernatural side, she said it was easy to step into Renesmee’s wardrobe of stylish boots and bright, jewel-toned clothes. “Renesmee wears a lot of purple and green, [which] are my two favorite colors,” she said.
Since the “Twilight” movies have wrapped (the final installment came out in November), Foy has been busy with a string of new projects. Next up, she can be seen in the thriller “The Conjuring,” alongside Vera Farmiga and Ron Livingston, as well as the indie film “Wish You Well.”
Here, the starlet shares a few of her fashion favorites.
Personal style: “I would describe my style as fun and happy. I like to dress according to my mood. Like if I’m feeling silly, I will wear really bright colors and a funny graphic tee.”
Favorite shoe brands and styles: “I love Converse sneakers. They just make me happy. I have so many styles and colors. I also like Repetto shoes because they are super comfortable. And I wear all different kinds of boots.”
Red-carpet looks: “For the L.A. premiere of ‘Breaking Dawn, Part Two’ I picked a pretty white Ralph Lauren dress. For the New York premiere, [I wore] a vintage-inspired black dress with a jeweled Peter Pan collar that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn. I [paired] both dresses with simple Repetto ballet flats.”
How does your “Breaking Dawn” character Renesmee’s style compare with your own? “Renesmee wears a lot of purples and greens. Those are my two favorite colors, so I have quite a lot of [shoes and clothes] in purple and green.”
Best items from Renesmee’s wardrobe: “I liked all the cool boots and the purple coat.”
Which of your “Breaking Dawn” co-stars’ closets would you most want to raid?“Definitely Jackson Rathbone’s, [who plays vampire Jasper Hale]. He’s got all kinds of fun things. Seriously, have you seen his hats? They’re awesome.”
Go-to outfit for relaxing and hanging out: “My Chucks, paired with crazy socks, a graphic tee, skinny jeans and a cute hat.”
Shopping spots: “I shop at all kinds of different places and look around until I see something that catches my eye. It depends on how I’m feeling that day, what will get my attention. It could be a pair of sparkly ballet flats or ripped skinny jeans.”
Shoe trends popular among your friends right now: “Anything sparkly and neon.”
Best city for shopping: “Wilmington, N.C., where I filmed ‘The Conjuring.’ Not so much because of the actual stores but because of the fun I had with friends while out shopping.”
Are you allowed to wear heels? “I am allowed to wear small heels and wedges, but I actually prefer not to because I don’t want to trip. My parents want me to wear shoes I won’t hurt myself in.”
Fashion idol: Audrey Hepburn. “She was always so classy and elegant.”

L'Officel Kids cover

Mackenzie did her first cover for French magazine L'Officel kids. She looks so beautiful and grown up, doesn't she? It feel like it was yesterday she was a little girl from the Barbie commercial. She has definitely grown into a gorgeous young lady. Can't wait to see what she'll do next!

All the photos were taken by talented Dani Brubaker.
